Conference of IT Chiefs

The Institute organized a Conference of IT Chiefs of various Public and Private Sector Banks on September 05, 2007. Dr. N. Krishna Mohan, Director, welcomed the delegates and introduced the agenda with a brief background.  

Dr. A.M. Pedgaonkar, CGM, DIT, RBI, in his inaugural address dwelt upon the various Technology initiatives of RBI and focussed on the need for consolidating existing payment systems, infrastructure creation for remittance facilities between neighbouring countries, and the need for a National Payment Gateway to enable inter-bank transfers.

Thereafter, the delegates were briefed about the latest developments in the areas of SFMS, CA, NFS and INFINET. Detailed presentations were made on phasing out of VSATs, switching over to MPLS Technology and its various advantages, and the Roadmap for implementation of the National Payment Gateway.

The Institute then sought feedback on its Executive Development Programmes and the IT Chiefs put forth their technology training requirements. Accordingly, the Institute is now all set to conduct new and more training programmes to meet the demands of the Sector. Over 75 delegates participated.
