Dr. Y. V. Reddy, Visitor, IDRBT and Governor, Reserve Bank of India, visited the Institute on July 13, 2007. He had a meeting with Dr. N. Krishna Mohan, Director, IDRBT, and Shri K. Chandracoodan, CGM, INFINET & Services, IDRBT, to update himself on the activities and priorities of IDRBT.
Thereafter, he met the Faculty, Staff and Students of the Institute over an interaction session. The session focussed on the role of the Reserve Bank of India in the Present Scenario, Rupee Appreciation, Monetary Policy, Subsidation of Commodities, Single Regulator, Consolidation of Banks, Global Imbalances and its Economic Impact, etc. Thereafter, the Honourable Governor exhorted the Staff to work towards realising the vision of the Institute. He focused on the need for developing technologies that would help in taking Banking to the unbanked areas and advised the Institute to benchmark its activities with the best. “Banking Technology is an area that has a demand in the international arena, and the Institute should prepare itself to meet such demands,” he advised and wished the Institute all success. |
