Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh, is connected to all the major cities and states by air, rail and road, and a few International flights put Hyderabad on the World Aviation Map.

IDRBT is located near the NMDC (National Mineral Development Corporation) Cross Roads, on the road leading to Mehdipatnam from Masab Tank. The Institute is right beside the NMDC and it is about 12 Kms from Secunderabad Railway Station and about 4 Kms from Hyderabad (Nampally) Railway Station. The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is around 27 Kms away from the Institute.

While the major landmarks enroute to the Institute from the Airport are Somajiguda X Roads, Punjagutta X Roads, Banjara Hills and Masab Tank, the pointers while traveling to the Institute form Secunderabad Railway Station are Tank Bund, Lakdi-ka-pul and Masab Tank. If you have alighted at the Hyderabad (Nampally) Railway Station, look out for Lakdi-ka-pul and Masab Tank. Since Secunderabad is the Headquarters of the South Central Railway, many of the trains begin and terminate at Secunderabad.

Taxis and Auto Service is available round the clock at all the above places and Hyderabad is known to be a city courteous to its mehman.
