Shri. M. V. Sivakumaran

Shri M. V. Sivakumaran, who joined the Institute as an Asst. Professor, brings with him over 23 years of experience in Banking. A Post Graduate in English Literature, he became a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers in 1982 and has a PG Diploma in Computer Applications, from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. In 2001, he completed his MBA (Finance), from IGNOU, New Delhi and has acquired the following diplomas as part of his MBA: Diploma in Management in 1998, PG Diploma in Financial Management in 1999 and PG Diploma in Management in 2000. He became a Certified Information Systems Auditor(CISA) affiliated to the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), USA, in October 2004. He has also passed the Certified Information Security Manager(CISM) Examination of ISACA, held in December 2005.

Prior to joining IDRBT, he was a Senior Manager and Faculty on Deputation to the Institute for three years, from Corporation Bank, Head Office, Mangalore. During this period, he has conducted programmes on Web Based Learning and developed and implemented an Intranet-based Knowledge Management system for the Institute. He was also in-charge of the Publications Wing of the Institute from July 1999 to June 2003

He has been a Member of the Faculty in the Apex Staff Training College of Corporation Bank for nearly five years and he has also been in Banking Operations for over a decade in different capacities. His last assignment in the Bank was in the Information Technology Division where he was associated with Software Development for Total Branch Automation, Training in Technology and Computer Orientation. 

He has attended the Retail Delivery 2000, a Conference organised by the Bank Administration Institute of the USA in New Orleans, in November 2000 and the 15th World Conference of Banking Institutes in Melbourne, Australia in March 2003.

He is currently involved in Banking Technology, Technology based Training, Information Systems Audit and Knowledge Management. He is also the convenor of the Faculty Council of IDRBT.
